Technical Lecture
25 February 2014 19:00 - 21:00

Description
The expected emergence of unconventional gas as a prime energy fuel will depend on public acceptance of hydraulic fracturing. Over the next 20 years gas is expected to continue to develop, but most of that growth will be on the back of unconventional or shale gas. Professor Peter Styles will talk about this technology and examine its strengths and weaknesses.
Professor Peter Styles is an expert in microseismology and microgravity and has given many public talks in the field of geophysics. He has also been asked to chair and serve on a number of Government Committees.
