Gorst Energy is an anaerobic digestion (AD) facility located in Clyst St Mary, on the outskirts of Exeter. They process agricultural feedstocks supplied by local farmers, primarily pig manure and sustainably grown crops. Using high-quality AD technology, the feedstock is broken down to produce biogas and digestate. The plant provides green energy to Exeter and East Devon. Join the committee on a tour of the plant.

Digital twins could provide a structured model based approach to represent the product throughout its lifecycle. Fast feedback of measured data would be used to calibrate the digital twin (integrated set of design models), then ran as a simulation to predict the outcome of any decisions made.
