    Throughout product development we have access to vast quantities of data, but often design decisions are made without using this data and derived knowledge to show that they are right. Digital twins could provide a structured model based approach to represent the product throughout its lifecycle. Fast feedback of measured data would be used to calibrate the digital twin (integrated set of design models), then ran as a simulation to predict the outcome of any decisions made.

Its design and operation is of great interest to engineers. The 2-hour visit involves a presentation and a walking-tour of some of the facility. The walking tour takes in the Waste Reception Hall, Waste Bunker, and a view of the waste burning on the grate.

    Speak Out for Engineering 2020 Area Heats Speak Out for Engineering is a competition for young engineers designed to help develop verbal and visual communication in explaining technical mechanical engineering related subjects.

    Help inspire and enthuse children about STEM. This UWE funded event consists of an on-line practical workshop for adults in which participants will construct a vibrating brush monster, balloon buggy and Cartesian diver. Materials will be sent out to participants in advance. If you have a child (about 7-13 years old) you are welcome to build the models together. Some class packs of materials are available to those who wish to run the activity in school when it is safe to do so.
