Welcome to the South Western Railway Division Centre

Welcome to the South Western Centre of the I Mech E's Railway Division. Please see below our forthcoming programme of events for 2019-20. If you would like your own electronic copy of the programme please click here. Please note that this year we have a new location for some of our Swindon meetings and a new day of the week for the majority of the meetings. In place of Western House we are now meeting at Milford House in Swindon – this is the blue building on the opposite side of the car park to Western House. The meeting room is on the fifth floor of Milford House.

Please note that all of our events are free and are open to engineers of all disciplines, and indeed to non-engineers.

I hope you will find something to interest you in our varied programme, we have some excellent and topical events planned.  There is also the popular Christmas family evening in December followed by a hot buffet, and I would particularly recommend the March Future of Rail presentation competition as an interesting and enjoyable evening hearing about the work being done by young developing engineers in our region.  We continue to build our links with the other engineering institutions and have joint lectures with IET and PWI.

Our AGM will be held on 28 April 2020.  If you have any suggestions for future lectures, technical visits or other matters, or would like to be considered for a position on the Committee, we would be very pleased to hear from you.

Matt Prosser

Centre Chairman

And do please note the new meeting venue and meeting day
