The legal requirements governing emissions have been set. This limit value poses new challenges, both for engineers and in terms of the materials. In order to comply with the statutory limit values, controlled components are increasingly being used and emission control systems have been improved.


This lecture will be an insight from a leading manufacturer of O.E./aftermarket C02 reducing emission compliant components and the challenges facing component manufacturer‘s in reducing CO2 emissions in the internal combustion engine. 

Contents:

An overview of the European legislation for CO2 emissions for petrol/diesel engines in 2020 and beyond EGR/SCR/OBD
• look at the complete EGR system that is Euro 6 compliant
• the main components
• the function of the components and how they work
• cooling systems
• water pumps –electrical/mechanical/construction/faults & how they can reduce CO2
• new components for legislation beyond Euro 6 Evap/secondary air pump , temperature sensors
• new products hybrid/electric vehicles
