Introducing Automobile Engineering Competition.

The IMechE Automobile Division Yorkshire Centre is excited to launch this new competition in support of our region's young members.

The event will commence at 6.30pm (BST) & there will be 3 Young Members competing.

Please ensure that you turn off your camera and mute your mic during the presentations. During the event, attendee names may appear on screen and be visible to others. The event may be recorded and uploaded to YouTube.

If you are an IMechE young member (30 yrs or under) and have an automotive-related project which you can talk about, we would like to hear from you. Simply present your work to a small panel of local IMechE members for a chance to win a prestigious IMechE trophy and cash prize! Teams or groups may also enter. Examples include undergraduate and postgraduate project presentations, or work related projects (with permission).

First Prize - Trophy, £200 and certificate
Second Prize - £100 and certificate

Your presentation will also contribute to your Chartered status application.

This event will be held online.

You will be allowed up to 20 minutes for your presentation with an extra 10 minutes for Q&A. This can be presented as an individual or as a group.

Please register your interest with Nicky Baxter, the Yorkshire Region Admin Officer before 16th June 2022 along with a short synopsis (200 words max). Successful entrants will be notified by the 17th June 2022.

Friends and families of presenters are welcome to join. The event is open to all members to listen to the presentations, but with advanced registration. Please book your place to attend via the booking link at the top of the page & you will be sent joining instructions.

Attendance at this event counts towards CPD.

Decisions by the judging panel will be final. The organisers reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the competition if sufficient entries are not received. Award of prize money is based on a presentation meeting a standard deemed appropriate by the judging panel.

I am not an IMechE member, Can I still make an event booking

Yes, the booking process is open to non members also. If this is your first time you will have to register for an account which can be used again for future event bookings. The registation process is one time and will not take more than 2 minutes. If you already created an account to book an event on IMechE nearyou website, you can use the same login details.
How to make an event booking

A simple step by step guide to help you through the event booking process:

1. Select the number of tickets you require from the drop down list at the top of the event listing.

2. Click the "Book Now" link on the event page of the event you are interested in.

3. You will be taken to the shopping cart page.

4. If you would like to book for multiple events, please repeat the above steps for each event you would like to attend.

5. Your selections should now be updated to your shopping cart.

6. Update number of places if required and click proceed.

7. If you already have an account or previously booked an event then enter your email address and password to sign in.

8. If this is your first time, then enter your email address and select "No, I do not have an account" (Please refer to How to create an account).

9. Once signed in click complete order to confirm your booking.

All done. See you at the event.

Both members and non members can create an account on this website to register for events.

Follow the steps on how to book events to take you to the Shopping cart screen.

In this screen you will be given option to sign in or register.

Select "No, I do not have an account" to register a new account.

Just add your Name, confirm your email address and provide a password to register.
