The presentation will discuss some of the issues and possible technologies for light vehicles, cars as the world transitions to a low carbon/carbon free future. Thinking about what are the main challenges ahead.

There will be time for questions and networking over tea and biscuits.

Dr. David Richardson gained a bachelor of science in Metallurgy and Material Science from the University of Birmingham, graduating in 1980. Since then he has worked in advanced engine development, combustion and emissions research, initially with BL Technology and the Rover Group (latterly Rover/BMW) and then with Jaguar Land Rover Powertrain Research from 2000. He retired in 2019. During his industrial career he worked with a number of UK universities and was involved in many UK and European funded projects.

He completed his PhD at the University of Bradford in 2018.

Since he retired he was a visiting professor at the University of Bradford and a visiting Fellow in the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford.
