Description

As the automotive industry accelerates toward zero-emission mobility, hydrogen fuel cell technology is emerging as a promising solution for long-range and heavy-duty applications. This talk explores the critical design considerations involved in integrating hydrogen fuel cell systems into modern vehicles.

The talk will cover the unique advantages Hydrogen offers in terms of energy density, refuelling speed and Total Cost of Ownership. Prior to looking at the specifics of Fuel Cell operation and the engineering challenges that shape typical system architecture, including thermal, hydrogen storage and safety protocols.

There will be time for questions and networking over tea and biscuits.

Our speaker Chris has over 20 years experience as a mechanical and systems engineer within Aerospace & Defence, Automotive & Motorsport at companies including BAE Systems, SAFRAN, Ginetta and more recently, overseeing Hydrogen Fuel Cell powertrain programmes as Head of Engineering at Viritech.

Currently Chris is working as Head of Innovation & Partnerships at Aegis Energy, supporting decarbonisation of Commercial Vehicles through the role out of Multi-Energy Hubs in the UK.
