Welcome to the Yorkshire Northern Area
The IMechE Yorkshire Northern Area has an active and growing committee with a diverse membership from both local industry and academia, covering the areas of Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield and North Yorkshire. The ongoing existence of this local IMechE committee is attributable to the hard work and dedication of these volunteer committee members who organise the annual local events programme and implement the IMechE policies.

During the challenging period of COVID we remained active and relevant, holding our committee meetings online using MS Teams. We now hold our committee meetings in person and aim to move the location of these around our area to give everyone the opportunity to get involved.
We have an active committee who organise different events during the year such as company visits, technical lectures, social events, and support STEM activities. We invite all our members to attend our committee meetings and we always have space on our committee for those wishing to bring fresh ideas and energy.
We are blessed in the Northern Area with excellent educational establishments and a diverse range of industries at the cutting edge of their fields. If you attend or work at one of our universities or companies or have a passion for engineering, please get in touch with us.
