The CAF Mark 5 coaches, which are now in operation, as supplied to Caledonian Sleeper and TransPennine Express, are quite different versions of the EMUs and DMUs of the CAF Civity UK platform - of which the class 195 DMUs and class 331 EMUs now being utilised elsewhere are also examples.

Our speaker, Graham Taylor, Programme Director, CAF Rolling Stock UK, has been deeply involved with the introduction of these two, very different, fleets. He will share his experiences and offer his views on the pros and cons of a standardised approach for
such - and perhaps dispel some myths about what is possible in the design of new vehicles.
