Description
Ian Walmsley, formerly Engineering Development Manager, Porterbrook and now writer at Modern Railways will look back fondly (or otherwise!) on the Class 14x trains, the now withdrawn saviour of a many rural routes in the North of England and elsewhere.
Joint event with the RD NW Centre.
Preceded by tour of the Institute of Rail Research's laboratory facilities, including roller rig, pantograph rig, train ride simulator and robotic rolling stock maintenance lab.
