Energy recovery is an important source of partly renewable, sustainable energy and a vital link in the waste management chain. Veolia's Energy Recovery Facilities (ERFs) complement integrated local waste strategies, helping to meet recovery and carbon emission targets. 

Veolia has been working in partnership with Sheffield City Council to provide waste management and recycling services for the residents of the city since 2001. The Energy Recovery Facility (ERF) in Sheffield, generates electricity for the National Grid and heat for the award-winning District Energy Network.







Join us for this opportunity to have a tour of the site, together with an introductory talk. Please note that there will be a number of stairs involved on the tour.

This event is free-of-charge & open to all. Non-IMechE members are very welcome to attend.

PPE will be required for the tour (hi-vis, hard hat, safety glasses, safety shoes/boots and safety gloves) & can be provided. However, if you have your own equipment, please bring this along on the day.
