This event has finished
Description

The Institution of Mechanical Engineers: Process Industries Division, Yorkshire presents its inaugural event packed with food, drink, networking, and a technical presentation by Dr Simon Rees from Norton Straw Consultants who will talk about "Using Engineering Analysis to Predict Fatigue Life of Critical Pipework".

Dr Jujar Panesar from CentDS, and the iconic Yorkshire duo Ashton Wesley & Owen Williams from the hugely successful Leeds Digital Drinks, along with the Wizu Workspace, will chair and host the event!

Itinerary for the evening:

17:30 - 18:00:  Arrival food, drinks & networking.

18:00 - 18:30:  Jujar Panesar - CentDS: Introduction to IMechE Process Industries Division, Yorkshire

Ashton Wesley & Owen Williams - Leeds Digital Drinks: Exciting Leeds events for 2019

18:30 - 19:00: Simon Rees - Norton Straw Consultants: "Using Engineering Analysis to Predict Fatigue Life of Critical Pipework"

Presentation synopsis:
Flow induced vibration and acoustically induced vibration are distinct phenomena which creates the risk of failure of critical pipework in the process industry. This presentation outlines how engineering analysis can be used to calculate the fatigue life of critical components and identify what changes are needed in the structural arrangements of critical pipework that may extend its operational life.

19:00 - 19:30: Floor open to questions & further networking.
