    Harry W Smith became Borough Engineer and Surveyor of Scarborough in 1897. Over the next 36 years he left a profound mark on the town’s development. His works involved many of the familiar features of Scarborough, such as the “Café Under the Clock”, the open-air theatre and numerous parks and gardens. Speaker, Adrian Perry, will expand upon the life and achievements of this remarkable engineer.
