Speak Out for Engineering (SOFE) is an international module in which students present their ideas in a video presentation. The main aim is to evaluate "𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐚 𝐢𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝, 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐚 𝐢𝐬". SOFE National is National level module that further leads to SOfE International in which participants from across the globe participate.

Speak Out for Engineering is a competition for young engineers so that they could develop verbal and visual communication in explaining technical, and mechanical engineering-related subjects
SOfE being a signature event of IMechE, challenges young engineers to hone their presentation skills in front of a panel of technical expert and presentation specialists.Thereby not only improving the presentation skills of the competitors but also their question handling ability.

GIKI, Pakistan - Swabi
SOFE is a local event. Students that participate are assigned a specific engineering related topic by the host team. Each student in the allotted time has to study in detail the topic, compile a presentation, and present it in front of a panel. The winner is decided on the basis of delivery and understanding of the assigned topic.

AKDC is a local event. For the first phase of the event teams from within GIK compete against one another and only the winning team gets to participate in the national level competition that takes place at NUST. Winning teams from all different universities than compete and the top three position holders are rewarded with a prize money.

In line with IMechE's commitment to long-term career development, the competition was intended to serve as a professional development opportunity. Given that the participants were not expected to have much hands-on experience, it was believed that by giving them the challenge to solve, they would have a better understanding of engineering's practical side. It surely did, based on the responses of the attendees, who praised the program as an outstanding learning experience.
