Description

As we strive for a more sustainable future, engineers are stepping up to create innovative solutions that significantly reduce the carbon footprint of our built environment. The PAS 2080, an international standard guiding effective carbon management throughout a project's lifecycle, breaks down carbon emissions into four engaging categories, including capital carbon, operational carbon, user carbon, and end-of-life carbon. This framework empowers professionals to tackle carbon reduction from every angle, driving us toward a greener tomorrow.
Join us for an engaging seminar co-hosted by the IMechE Hong Kong Brach Young Member Section, the Institution of Civil Engineers Hong Kong Association Graduates and Student Divisions (ICE HKA G&S) and the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers Young Engineers Network (CIBSE YEN).This event will showcase an innovative carbon capture technology developed by the Finnish company Soletair.
This innovative technology is designed to transform conventional buildings into "carbon capture machines," enabling the built environment to actively combat atmospheric carbon dioxide levels. Housed in a compact modular unit, it seamlessly integrates with most existing air handling units of the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, providing a flexible and practical retrofitting solution for a wide range of buildings with limited plant room space. This approach not only boosts energy efficiency but also paves the way for greener urban environments.
Participants will have the opportunity to hear from industry experts who will provide valuable insights into the deployment and performance of this cutting-edge technology and how it can change the system configuration and design requirements of the HVAC system. They will also engage in discussions about the broader implications for carbon management in Hong Kong and the global context, exploring how such innovations can shape sustainable urban development.
Don’t miss this opportunity to explore the future of carbon management and network with like-minded professionals. To secure your spot, please register using the link below and follow the provided instructions.
