IMechE Hong Kong Branch co-organized with HKIE MMNC Division this 6-day technical visits to Dalian, Liaoning, the main objective is let members in HK to explore more, connect and communicate with other engineers through technical visits in Dalian, Liaoning. Locations to be visited included: -
- Liaoning Shipbuilding Engineering Society (辽宁省造船工程学会)
- Dalian Maritime University (大連海事大學)
- Leo Group Pump Industry Co., Ltd. (利欧泵业)
- Angang Steel Company Limited (鞍钢股份有限公司)
The cities of Dalian, Lushun, and Anshan form a powerful industrial network in Liaoning Province in Mainland China, each playing a distinct yet interconnected role in China's manufacturing and maritime sectors.
At the core of this network, Dalian serves as the maritime and shipbuilding powerhouse, driving innovation in commercial and naval vessel production while facilitating global trade through its strategic port. Meanwhile, Anshan—the steel backbone of the region—supplies high-quality materials through Ansteel Group, enabling heavy industry, infrastructure, and technological advancements. Supporting this maritime ecosystem, Lushun contributes by specializing in precision pump manufacturing, providing critical components for ships, municipal systems, and defense applications.
