The joint society site visit to GBA Shiziyang passageway aims to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of one of the most significant transportation infrastructure projects currently being developed. Through technical presentations and site visits, participants will gain insight into the planning, design, construction, and strategic significance of the Shiziyang Channel, a landmark 2,180 m main-span double-deck steel truss suspension bridge that is expected to achieve multiple world-class engineering milestones upon completion.

The visit will focus on:
- The application of ultra-large tower cranes, hydraulic positioning systems, construction elevators, aerial work platforms, and heavy lifting equipment in large-scale bridge construction.
- Precision installation techniques for key structural components, including cable saddles, main cables, hangers, and steel truss girder segments.
- The use of load monitoring systems, wind-speed monitoring, structural alignment control, and intelligent lifting technologies to enhance construction safety and efficiency.
- The integration of electromechanical systems and automated equipment to support high-elevation construction operations in a coastal and high-wind environment.
- The adoption of BIM, IoT sensors, BeiDou positioning, 5G communications, and smart construction platforms for project management, equipment monitoring, quality assurance, and risk control.

The study tour will provide a valuable platform for technical exchange and professional networking, strengthening collaboration and knowledge sharing among young engineers from Guangdong and Hong Kong while broadening their exposure to advanced bridge engineering, construction technologies, and modern infrastructure delivery practices.
