Welcome to the Oceania Region

The Oceania Region is led by a Region Committee and also represented by Panels in QLD, NSW, VIC, SA, WA and New Zealand.  We have active Panel Chairs who organise events such as technical lectures and social gatherings for the membership.

For those seeking to become members, the Region is also able to facilitate Professional Review Interviews using Australian or NZ based assessors.

2026 plans and updates:

• The Oceania Region had their most recent regional committee meeting on 4th August 2026.
• Plans are underway for the Speak Out For Engineering (SOFE) competition.
• Registration for the Victorian and Tasmanian can be found here.
• An IMechE Heritage award for the Goludburn Locomotive 1076 will be presented by the Region in Goldburn in October 2026.
• An IMechE Heritage award for the Tamworth Steam Engine will be presented by the Region in Tamworth in November 2026. In addition, the Oceania Region Panel will be having their annual faced-to-face that weekend in Tamworth as well.
