Welcome to the Oceania Region

The Oceania Region is led by a Region Committee and also represented by Panels in QLD, NSW, VIC, SA, WA and New Zealand.  We have active Panel Chairs who organise events such as technical lectures and social gatherings for the membership.

For those seeking to become members, the Region is also able to facilitate Professional Review Interviews using Australian or NZ based assessors.

2026 plans and updates:

• The Oceania Region had their first regional committee meeting of 2026 on 3rd Feb.
• Plans underway to host a Speak Out For Engineering (SOFE) competition, with the heats to be conducted in June/July 2026.
• Regional face-to-face meeting planned to be in Perth later this year.
• An application an IMechE Heritage award for the Tamworth Steam Engine has been submitted. Hopefully we get a positive response and Region could have an Award to present by late 2026 in Tamworth!
