Power plants, one of the crucial national asset that we all can't live without. How is it like to be a power plant researcher? Join us in this session with Ir. Dr. Hasril Hasini who will be sharing with us his journey working towards being a power plant researcher who have worked with various projects and also serving as an Associate Professor with Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), Malaysia!

Speaker's Bio: 

Hasril Hasini received his Diploma in Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering from Wigan and Leigh College UK in 1997 and Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Sheffield, UK in 2000. 

Upon returning from his undergraduate study in Malaysia, he served as a field engineer at Tenaga Nasional Berhad for a short stint during the construction of 3x700 MW coal-fired power plant in Manjung, Perak. In 2003, he was awarded the M. Eng in Mechanical Engineering from Universiti Tenaga Nasional specializing in the applications of CFD in full scale power plant boilers. He secured a Commonwealth Scholarship in 2007 and completed his PhD specializing in the CFD code development for predicting wet steam flow in Low Pressure Steam Turbine. 

Hasril is a registered Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia, Certified Energy Manager and Certified Professional in Measurement and Verification by the Malaysia Green Technology Corporation. He currently serves as a Deputy Dean (Academic & Research) in the College of Engineering Universiti Tenaga Nasional and Associate Director (Mechanical) for the Engineering Accreditation Council, Board of Engineers Malaysia.


Ir. Dr. Hasril Hasini is a Power Plant Researcher and Associate Professor with Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), Malaysia.
