Welcome to the Malaysia Branch

The Malaysian Branch was incorporated in 1997 with the formation of a Pro Temp Committee with Professor Ir. Dr. Ong Kok Seng as the Pro Temp Chairman. Application to the Malaysian Registrar of Society was approved in 2000 and the first Inaugural meeting was held in January 2001.

The Branch has efficient business plans and a committee of dedicated volunteers to achieve the mission of the institution through the provision of networking, events, news, links with like-minded organisations and opportunities for the local engineering community.

As of Dec 2019, the distribution of membership in Malaysia is as follows:

    Scientists forecast that sea levels will be at least one meter higher within 30 years, with many estimates placing this far higher. It is therefore important to plan for how to protect coastal infrastructure and developments which will be at risk of flooding and other associated damage. This webinar will address how rising sea levels are being measured and monitored, and what engineers can do to mitigate their impact.
