The Railway Division of IMechE India Branch, in collaboration with the Railway Division of IMechE UK, has organized an industrial visit to Wabtec’s Diesel Locomotive Factory at Marhowra, Bihar, on 12 June 2026. The visit provides members with a unique opportunity to observe locomotive manufacturing processes, understand modern railway engineering practices, and interact with industry professionals. The event also features a Speak Out for Engineering (SOFE) session, encouraging participants to develop and showcase their communication and presentation skills on a engineering topic. The programme successfully combines technical learning, professional development, and networking, offering valuable exposure to real-world engineering applications in the railway sector.
The event is open for registrations on a first-come-first served basis for up to 10 members. Therefore members who are interested in the industrial visit and SOFE should reach out to Amit Ramteke and register their interest. Travel to Marhowra factory will be organised from Patna Railway station on 12th Jun'26 at 830am and return back to reach Patna railway station by around 430pm on 12th Jun'26.
